Menno-Hof performance

June 4, 2010

The premier performances of "The Same Amazing Water that the Cows Drink", will be held at Menno-Hof in Shipshewana on Wednesday, June 23, Friday & Saturday June 25 & 26 at 7pm and Sunday afternoon June 27 at 3pm.

When the exhibits at an Anabaptist Museum come to life, a modern youth, trapped inside for the night faces the real commitment and cost that comes by saying "yes" to following in Christ's footsteps. Written by Joel Kaufmann and performed by Jones Family Productions of Shipshewana, the play takes a refreshing and honest look at Believer's Baptism from Bible times to the present, and pays a special attention to the baptismal commitments made during the Anabaptist movement that took place during the Reformation.

Menno-Hof is a non-profit information center that teaches visitors about the faith and life of Amish and Mennonites. Located in Shipshewana, IN, Menno-Hof's multi-image presentations, historical environments and colorful displays take you on a fascinating journey inside the unique world of the Mennonites and Amish.

Jones Family Productions has been sharing numerous plays in the Shipshewana community for the last twelve years. Their most recent production was "A Moment of Truth" an original production depicting the unselfishness of Anabaptist Martyr, Dirk Willems.

Kaufmann is a professional screenwriter. He has written several scripts for Disney Joel and is the author of the Pontius Puddle cartoon strip. Joel says that laughter seems to him to be a gift from God. Humor lowers tensions, breaks down walls and creates windows that allow individuals to consider another point of view.
