Media Contact: Tammy Tilley Photos and interviews available upon request. September 8, 2011 Fall for Crafts in Shipshewana Shipshewana, IN--There are crafts, and then there’s art. Visitors might experience some of both at Shipshewana’s tenth annual Fall Crafters Fair slated for September 29-October 1. No admission fee is charged. Now in its eleventh year, this three-day event features over 70 artisans and crafters both demonstrating and displaying their work. The central hub of all crafters center around the Blue Gate Restaurant and Riegsecker Marketplace, then branching out all around town. . Pottery, paintings, jewelry, baked goods, stained glass, along with a variety of items made by Amish crafters will be available for purchase, each day from 9 am until 6 pm. In addition, family-friendly activities have been planned, from threshing and apple butter making demonstrations, to pony rides, antique tractor displays, chainsaw carving, clogging, and pottery-making. Along with the many restaurants in town, food stands will be set up, featuring mostly Amish-made dishes. An abundance of concerts are offered during the event as well. An outdoor venue will showcase free concerts throughout the day, and the Blue Gate Theater will host indoor concerts at 7 pm each evening. Tickets are required for the evening concert, and are available for purchase online, by telephone, or on the day of the show. Blue Gate Theater performers include The Balos Family, The Bontrager Family, and Moonlight Bluegrass. Ticket prices vary, from $24 for the show, to $39 for dinner and theater, up to $239 for the concert, dinner, gift basket, carriage ride, and overnight hotel. As usual, retailers throughout town will be offering their own discounts as well as decorating the storefronts and sidewalks with beautiful fall décor. 888-447-4725, www.FallCraftersFair.com For more information on this and other events, contact: (800) 254-8090 Email: info@LaGrangeCountyCVB.org The LaGrange County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau is the official agency for tourism marketing, planning and development in LaGrange County, Indiana.
